I am a primary teacher of 32 years and I really want to quit teaching. This past year was difficult for all teachers and it really did me in emotionally, mentally, and physically. I am on the fence about spending $140 thinking it will add to my stress and become 1 more thing “to do”. My children are older and my husband is also a teacher. I may sound selfish here but what I want is time for me. I want time to exercise and paint. Will this program give me time for myself? I may retire at the end of this upcoming school year which is also another factor. However, if I need to continue to work, I want some balance because I cannot keep up doing school “stuff” all of the time. Thanks for sharing!

I think your comments are actually very fair, but I respectfully disagree! The 40 Hour Teacher Work Week Club has HUNDREDS of positive reviews from teachers who have shaved an average of 11 hours of work off their weeks after going through the program and implementing some of the strategies and routines introduced in the club – that’s WAY more time than I could save by ordering dinner once or twice a week! Plus, it’s setting me up for making long-term/lasting changes, not just a temporary fix. As for dropping the blog… If you visit my regular site, you’ll see that my posting dropped significantly this year. You’re right – something had to go, and often times it *was* the blog. BUT, that’s the problem! I love blogging – it is one of the few things I do that’s FUN for ME, and I genuinely missed it this school year. One of the main reasons I want to join the 40HTWW Club is so that I CAN get back to doing things I enjoy and not always be “working” or “surviving.” To each their own though… Ultimately, we all have to do what is best for our individual lives, careers, families, etc. 🙂

Christin, I hate that you had a similar school year, but I’m so glad my post resonated with you! Being a mom and a teacher at the same time is super hard in any situation, but I can only imagine *how hard* it must have been to go from 0-2 children at the same time! Congrats on surviving the last year at all!!! Seriously!

I hope you will get to spend some time going through the 40HTWW materials this summer and choosing the things that work best for you. I love that membership is for forever so you *can* do that if you need to. Feel free to email me too if you ever want to chat about your experience or what you’re learning in the Club!

That’s gotta save some time. How often do you post? This thing youre selling here is probably going to be as useful as those to-do lists. Why not take that money and plan to order in 1 or 2 nights a week. No cooking, no cleaning = more time! Did you say swim and Tball? Drop one of those. ! extra at a time… do tball, then do swim.

This so completely mirrors my experience of this year. We adopted two children who came home mid-July of last year. While I knew this would be a dramatic change, the challenge of teacher, wife, and mom, and trying to take care of myself was more difficult than I ever could have imagined. You put into words what I have been thinking and feeling. I want to be good in all areas, but I found myself drowning in all of them! I am a member of the 40HTWW club, but really had no time to keep up with it. One of my summer goals is to get back in gear with 40HTWW! Thank you for being honest and open, and thanks to Linda and Angela for their resources and support.

Your story is so relatable. I can’t wait to meet you inside the club and read more about your work/life balance journey in the year ahead. Super exciting! 🙂
